Case Study: ICSSS
New build apartments are often overlooked when it comes to incorporating renewable-compatible technology. Yet with 15% of UK residents living in apartments in the UK alone, getting green heating systems into new build apartments could be a major contributor to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and meeting climate targets.
ICSSS Ltd knew this, and intended to capitalise on the opportunities available when building new apartment developments in Fleggburgh, Norfolk. In order to incorporate the most efficient and effective heating systems available, ICSSS turned to the Energy Efficiency team at City Plumbing for their vast knowledge and experience in the sector.
The EE team decided that, thanks to the outstanding insulation of the apartments, a 9kW RC090MHXEA Air Source Heat Pump for each apartment would provide sufficient heating and hot water, even during the coldest of winter days. The heat pump was connected to an underfloor heating system, which created an extremely efficient heating system throughout the apartments, and contributed to a luxurious, welcoming feel. It also invalidated the need for large radiators, adding valuable wall and floor space to each room.
Thanks to ultra-effective heating systems, the residents of each apartment can enjoy extremely low running costs, without sacrificing warmth or comfort.
